Our Story

We built Ancient Oak Resort around something we spent years looking for ourselves: a place where people can settle in, enjoy peace and privacy, and feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.

Over the years, our family relocated many times for work, and along the way we spent nearly three years living in RV parks. Those experiences taught us what we valued in a place to stay—and what we hoped to find more of: peace, privacy, comfort, and room to breathe.

Long before Ancient Oak Resort existed, we learned to solve problems ourselves. Joe grew up on a ranch, and Joede grew up around horses. We both learned early that when something needed to be done, you figured it out and got to work.

When we couldn’t find a home in Western Washington that fit our family’s needs and budget, we built one. What started as a practical solution became something we carried with us through the many moves that followed.

When we moved to Texas, building an RV park was never part of the plan. But God blessed us with a property where it became possible, and we realized we had the opportunity to create the kind of place we had always wished existed.

That’s what guests get here now: room to breathe, space to enjoy their surroundings, and the comfort of a place that feels right.

We built the place we spent 25 years wishing we could find.

Now it’s yours too.
